About the event

  • Simple Sewing is changing its focus due to the devastation caused by the hurricane in the country. No experience or machine is required to participate, and I will be teaching how to make handmade tote bags for hurricane victims. These bags will be donated as a gesture of hope and love from our community.


If you've never used a sewing machine or have had a long break, these three Basic 101 workshops are perfect! In this series, you will learn how to maintain your machine, identify essential sewing tools, wind your bobbin, thread your machine, and understand the straight zig-zag and over-casting stitches, while making your first seams and projects. In the first class, there will be a one-hour lecture covering the top three sewing rules, different types of needles, fabrics, interfacing, computerized versus mechanical machines, and how not to break the bank.
